Tloma Giving Sends Emergency Food

The past season has been quite dry in Tanzania. The “long rains”, which fall from March to May, have come and were pretty substantial. Unfortunately, they will not help the situation this season; the benefits of these recent rains won’t be realized until later in the year.

Tloma Giving was notified of a dire food shortage at the school. There did not appear to be enough food for the remining month or so left in the school year. Some of the students, like the ones pictured above, are suffering from hunger as their food supplies at home and at the school begin to run out.

As a result, Tloma Giving sent an emergency shipment of 1,330 kgs of maize and 300 kgs of beans to the school. These staples will be a huge help in providing nutrition for the students for the rest of the school year.
